Aleksandra Makarovich Dyalova || fifty-two || In Russia still

Siblings:
Anastasiya Isaakovna Dyalova || sixteen || In Russia still

Children:
none

Other:
Evgeniya Nikolaievna Antonova | five to seven | no blood relation

History:
Karol is a complicated individual who often proves difficult for most people to understand, his history is no different. He has a long and complicated past, which he would like to keep in the past and not talk about it. While he will not admit that he is truly bothered by the events that make up his life he still rather evasive when dealing with it, leaving much of his life a mystery to most people. Despite his avoidance of the topic his history is important to shaping him into who he is today

His father:
His father was born fifty-four years ago on, February 12, 1954 to a rich and influential family, in the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) in the country of Russia, to the name Isaak Mikhailevich Dyalov. Born only a year after Stalin’s death, he was born during the time of change in the government of USSR, as Russia entered a period of De-Stalinization, or a movement to eliminate Stalin’s rule. Also born only a year after the end of World War II, Isaak was born into the Cold War. In March of 1954, only a month after his birth the KGB or the Committee for State Security (in English) was formed. The KGB was the official name of the umbrella organization serving as the Soviet Union’s premier security agency, secret police, and intelligence agency. Not long after its formation, Isaak’s father was promoted to a member of the Second Chief Directorate, which was responsible for counter-intelligence and internal political control of citizens and foreigners in the Soviet Union.

Isaak, like his father and grandfather, was an intelligent individual, who was able to advance and finishes his studies early. In 1972 a little after his eighteen birthday Isaak sought a job as a scientist for the government. It was here that, due to his grades and his family’s history to the government that he was placed as one of the top scientist of what they called the Linsang Project. The Linsang project was a project designed to create genetically engineered weapons, their focus Chimeras, or human-animal hybrids. The project was started early on in the Cold War, as the Russian Government hoped to create top-level fighters. With the limited knowledge of how DNA worked the experiments were unsuccessful. It wasn’t until the mid 50’s with the discovery of the Genetic code that the project really seemed to become possible. Still they were proving to be years away from any success. By 1972 the cold war was seemingly beginning to die down, despite this the experiments were ordered to continue.

In 1975 the world’s first pregnancy by artificial means was produced, the pregnancy though proved to be entopic and had to be terminated, it was around this time that the first results from the project finally started happening. The results they got though were anything but successes. Babies were born deformed, missing limbs, missing organs, or otherwise couldn’t sustain life. It wasn’t until 1976, with the birth of a baby girl who had been infused with Chimp DNA that the project seemed to have reached success. With the girl proving the project to not be a waste (even if she seemed to show no special abilities. From her they branched out in the type of Animal DNA used and in the next two years they produced about five more children (with many more having been either lost during pregnancy or born deformed).

The first batch though soon proved to be anything but the success they thought it was. Many of the children were showing signs of health issue then in the year 1979 a young boy who had been infused with ferret DNA, died of what appeared to be old age. The experiments that were alive were soon kept under watch, though most suffered the same faith. It wasn’t until later that year (1979) the first real successful experiment was born, a baby girl who had wolf DNA infused on her.

From there the experiments seemed to pick up and with the use of prisoners and a few chosen female participants, hybrids were being born. The results were far from consistent though and they only seemed to have a 45% live birth rate. Still they were producing live results.

With his work Isaak often seemed to lack time for much of an outside life, he often dedicated himself to doing the research. So it was a surprise to everyone around him when in late 1979 at the age of twenty five when he met Aleksandra, a childhood friend of his.

His mother:
His mother was born fifty-two years ago on, January 4th, 1956. Like Karol’s father she was born to a rich and rather influential family in Soviet Russia to the name Aleksandra Makarovich Akimova. The oldest of six kids, she was often responsible for watching over the children, and doing other household chores, including helping cooking, at a very young age. Her father was a hard worker dedicated to his country and when she was only seven he was promoted to high government position. Due to the nature of his work her father was rarely around the house, instead her mother and later her was usually left with a house of screaming children for prolonged periods of time.

When Aleksandra was ten her mother died giving birth to her youngest brother, with her passing Aleksandra was expected to pick up her duties. The housework, watching the children, laundry, and other tasks her father saw as ‘woman’s duty’ was left to her. Most of the time Aleksandra was left alone during the day with the kids, her father only calling in his late wife’s sister when he was gone for more then one day. Though Aleksandra seemed to accept her duties as the oldest woman left in the house, she often seemed to want something more, or at least an escape now and then.

Despite this Aleksandra staid with her family, helping her father look after the house, raise the kids, and other such chores long after her eighteenth birthday. It wasn’t until 1979 when she was twenty three that she first showed signs of wanting to move out. By then, her youngest brother was thirteen and no longer needed her care.

His parents:
His parents were childhood friend, having met through their father’s when Aleksandra was only three. Over the years thought he two slowly grew apart as their parents went different ways and by the time Aleksandra was ten she no long spoke to Isaak. It wasn’t until thirteen years later the two crossed paths again. Now back in each other lives the two hit it off, and a year later Isaak asked her to marry him, a move that surprised everyone that knew him. Isaak was never viewed as the marrying type, or husband material. Those around him described him as cold, cruel, and controlling, and it was often joked that he was married to his job. Still despite this, the two were married in early 1981. By December of the same year the ‘honey moon’ period seemed to be over, Isaak’s true colors started showing through.

He was a cruel man, controlling and borderline abusive, and he soon proved to have no problem using his wife to further his experiments. Using his wife as a ‘vessel’, he conducted a new line of experiments, trying to further integrate the animal DNA with that of the embryo’s trying to resulted in a more integrated hybrid with higher percentage of animal DNA. He wanted the resulting offspring to be 98% or so human in appearance with just the hint of physical traits of the animal though he wanted more of their abilities to show. Over the next six years or so his wife miscarried two of these experiments, two more didn’t take, and one was born deformed. It wasn’t until 1988 that the first success of these experiments were finally born.

Birth to three:
He was born about twenty years ago on September 30th, 1988 to the name Karol Isaakovich Dyalov in USSR. He was the first living success of 2nd string of experiments, having been infused with tiger DNA before he was implanted in his mother. Upon his birth though nothing special was seen about him, no animal traits were seen. He was soon labeled a failure, even though he was alive and healthy.

Most children born with animal DNA who did survive were kept to the lab. This was done for a number of reasons, two of the most important reasons being, one, if the experiments were discovered things would get messy and two, they were further experimented on, tests run throughout their lives to see how they were developing. Those that ran into health issue do to the animal DNA were often disposed of. They were rarely viewed as anything more then experiments. Karol on the other hand, maybe due to the fact that he was actually the son of an experimenter was brought home. They disguised the move as another study, testing to see how the experiments were survive outside the lab setting.

Life wasn’t easy for Karol or his mother though. Not long after she brought him home he stared showing that he did indeed gain the ability that many experiments were observed as having, the ability to shift. This prevented them from leaving the house as anytime that Karol got overly stimulated, upset, or left hungry, he ended up shifting into the form of a white tiger. This also made feeding time harder as if Karol’s mother was quick enough in feeding she had a baby tiger to deal with instead of her son. Or whenever Karol was overtired he would end up shifting.

It wasn’t until he was about a year old that he finally seemed to start gaining some control over the ability he had. Shifting soon became more conscious, as he discovered that getting around in tiger form was much easier then his own human form. Though as he gained more and more control of his shifting ability the less he shifted accidentally, he now had more control of his ability and his emotions. Though this didn’t make things any easier on his mother. The poor woman had her hands full, as if raising a toddler wasn’t hard enough, having to constantly chase after a energetic wild cat was more then she really knew how to deal with.

This of course also stunted his progress to a degree when in human form. Due to being able to rely heavily on his cat form he didn’t need to get around in his normal form, as a result he didn’t take his first steps until he was nearly two. It was also this time that it became clear to his father that maybe he wasn’t as much as a failure in terms of the experiment after all. When his teeth started coming in for the fist time, it soon became clear that he had two tiny sets of fangs.

This of course also made things difficult, a teething baby is hard enough to deal with, now one that has such sharp and dangerous set growing in. On top of that he was also proving to have more of the grace and ability of his tiger form without having to shift. While all the experiments showed advanced abilities, Karol’s were beyond anything else that was really seen. The higher percentage of animal DNA also showed up in other ways. He had cravings for raw meet, urges to chase moving objects, and the smell of blood seemed to excite him.

Not long after his second birthday his father placed in a training program, now that Karol had complete control over his human form his father started training him in the art of battle. After all he was bred to be a weapon and therefore he didn’t really have time to be a child. Karol though seemed to see it as a game at first, which was fine by his father so long as he did as he was told with out arguing. Of course any argument or mistake was usually met violently. He had no patience for the childlike nature of his subjects.

Despite the fact that Karol was Isaak’s biological child, he seemed to take little interest in him outside an experiment or training sense. While he was interested in any change in him in the experimental sense he otherwise found the boy to be a nuisance. he often met the boy’s seemingly hyper and somewhat happy personality with violence. Despite the fact that he knew that one day the young boy would grow to be stronger then him.

In the late December of 1991, the Council of Republics of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, recognized the dissolution of the Soviet Union and dissolves itself. With this the USSR officially falls, something that was happening for years. With the USSR gone, the Cold War is over.

With the fall of the USSR a new government is put into place for Russia, the projects done under the old Government are disbanded. Despite this, interest in the Linsang Project remained high and soon the government reorganized it under the name of Leopon Project. Again Isaak was placed in top position due to his success in the past.

Four to five:
The day of his fourth birthday came and went rather uneventfully. There was no party to celebrate the occasion though; there was barely any acknowledgement of the achievement. His mother was pregnant again and complications with the pregnancy had left her bed bound for most of the day. This often left Karol to his own devices and often ended with him getting into trouble. It wasn’t so much that he was a bad kid at this point, he was just curious. As the saying goes curiosity killed the cat, or in his case ‘killed the mother’. While he wasn’t meaning to be bad he got into everything. He just had to touch, especially if he was told that he shouldn’t touch it. Nothing seemed safe from him, if it was placed up high he would climb to retrieve it. it wasn’t long before anything of value, dangerous, or breakable was under lock and key. Of course this didn’t keep him from trouble, he was bored and he had little else to do with himself.

When night came though and his father returned, it was almost like Karol was a completely different person. The curiosity faded and so did the pent up energy. Suddenly he was serious and usually at attention, most of the time though he rather avoid his father. Escape the wrath he knew would end up being sent his way. On good days this worked, his father seeming to tired to pursue him. most of the time though his father sought him out, he had training to do, he couldn’t let him slack.

A few months after his birthday, in December of 1992 his mother went into labor. The labor was hard and long lasting for about two days, but on December 12th she gave birth to a young girl who she named Anastasiya Isaakovna Dyalova. The birth was premature by two and half months and the girl was small and frail looking. To help ensure her survival she was kept in the lab using ventilators to help in her breathing. It wasn’t until two months later that she was finally released from the lab. Sasha (as she was called) like her brother, was another one of Isaak’s experiments. Isaak had infused Snow Leopard DNA onto hers; again, he still sought after producing animal-like traits in the human form, something that he seemed too finally succeed at. While Sasha was mainly human looking, she did have small traits that marked her for what she was, her eyes were the light green to gray of the snow leopards, and she was fair skinned much like the snow leopard form. This marked the start of extensive research into creating more integrated human-animal hybrids. Isaak wanted to create the best weapon, a human with wings, with a full mouth of sharp fangs, with claws, anything that can be used as built in weapons.

Over the next year Karol did a lot of growing up. He no longer was the baby and it seemed this was enough to bring him down to earth. Maybe it was that he now had something to do as he seemed to dedicate himself to helping his mother with the raising of his sister. His sister soon proved to have many of the same abilities as him, though she seemed to have trouble holding the animal form for long periods of time, a fact that concerned Isaak. Such a trait wasn’t sought after, especially not with what they wanted to use them for. What was even worse a few other experiments were proving to lack the ability at all. Their father hoped that with training that Sasha would be able to better control and prolong her shifting and so his training of her began.

At the same time talk soon started about enrolling Karol in school. He was now five, school was fast approaching, and they needed to have him prepared. Dealing with him and school was not as simple as dealing with the average kid, there were precautions that needed to be taken, training that needed to be done. Over the next year Karol’s was badgered with what was and wasn’t acceptable in public. You do not shift in public or draw attention to any of the odd abilities the DNA provided. You are to act normal and not draw attention to yourself. This was the first time that Karol started to realize that he wasn’t normal. That not everyone had the same abilities he did and not everyone was so ready to accept it.

six to eight:
Another year came and went and the day of his sixth birthday was quickly approaching, and a few days before he turned six he was enrolled in school and few days before he turned six, on September first, he started school. In school Karol was soon viewed as the quiet one by his teachers. He rarely spoke, he didn’t really interact, and he didn’t play with others, he did do well in his work though. He seemed to grasp his work quickly and easily and he usually surpassed his peers easily leaving them behind. He had a thirst for knowledge and during free time he was more likely to be found with a book then playing.

What made him even stranger to his teachers was his ability to sit quietly for hours at a time. Where a lot of kids seemed to have trouble, he never even squirmed. His stair often made the teachers uncomfortable, his ability to stare unflinching for prolonged periods of times. His also always seemed to know when someone was talking about him, even when they were whispering across the room. Every time someone mentioned his name he seemed to snap to attention, no matter how quiet they tried to talk.

Sports were another area that seemed awkward; instead of getting involved he always stepped back and watched. To his teachers it seemed he didn’t know how to involve himself in group activities. This was probably true, but just as much was that he knew, or was at least taught by his father, that he wasn’t allowed to participate. He was more graceful, more agile, with a lot more coordination then kids is age, and his father seemed fearful that attention would be drawn his way.

Teachers grew increasingly concerned about him as he seemed to isolate himself more and more. One rarely if ever heard him talk, he always seemed more involved in a book then to notice if anyone was talking to him. He avoided interacting with his peers and it wasn’t long before they voiced their concerns to his parents. His father wasn’t happy about it, he felt that the odd behavior was drawing to much attention to him. Karol’s mother on the other hand was concerned that the first years of his life separated from other peers had left its effects on him. that thanks to the fact that the first six years of his life was spent behind walls with no other kids (until the birth of his sister) made it impossible to figure out how to interact with anyone outside of family.

His issue came more from having no idea how to interact with normal kids. By this point his sister was about two years old, like her brother she developed many of the same abilities, she was agile, quick, and graceful. She also was proving to be a fun playmate for six year old Karol. The two often ended up wrestling around in both human and their animal forms. This often scared their mother due to the fact that Karol was so much larger then his sister. Despite this he seemed to take care of her, ever gentle, never once did he even accidentally leave a mark on her.

Karol’s father on the other hand seemed to grow more agitated with the kids and wife. Training started with his sister now, hoping to further attune her skills. He also was growing increasingly abusive of his family, as more and more time was spent outside the house in the lab. He was getting somewhere in his work, he had to keep going. He couldn’t falter now, the more time spent outside the home though wasn’t a bad thing for the family. They often dreaded his return as he came back annoyed and agitated.

Karol continued with his education he was advancing well in school though socially he was still stunted. Then around his seventh birthday, he suddenly seemed to come out of shell. The change in him was drastic one; he went from being completely isolated to actively interacting with large groups. The change in him was credited to a young girl named Nadezhda. Nadya was two months younger then Karol, but she was a bold and outgoing girl who would not take no for an answer. The more Karol ignored her the more she seemed to pester him until finally he caved. From there he seemed to grow socially, he finally seemed to have somewhere to belong.

It was about this time that Karol’s father increased his training with Kar, he felt he was now old enough to do the more difficult maneuvers and handle a weapon. The fist time Karol handled a sword, things got ugly quick. His father failed to give him any instruction of how to hold the sword properly let alone block. He was thrown into training with another kid and with his lack of knowledge ended up getting his arm cut open. That put an end to that battle quick as there was a lot of blood and Karol needed stitches. His father was livid, as far as he was concerned Karol failed him and he did it on purpose, ‘you aren’t even trying’.

The wound to his arm healed relatively quickly, though it left a scar there was no permanent damage. The wound was barely healed when his father threw him back into training, though this time someone else stepped up to give him the proper techniques to keep him out of harm’s way, though he was anything but good at first he learned quickly. Once he knew what he w as doing he seemed to take an interest in weapons and their use. And it wasn’t long before he started looking to use more advanced weapons. Guns were a constant fascination for the young boy, the amount of damage done in the short time always interested him. crossbows and bows and arrows were also a side interest of his, though why it wasn’t clear as they weren’t used by many others in the group.

By eight he was excelling in school and his private training. His teachers started taking notice in his grades now. He was proving to be a bit to advanced for his schoolwork and they weren’t sure what to do with him, other then move him to more advanced classes. So, proving once more to follow in his father’s footsteps he was advanced, where he continued being the top of his class. He had a love for languages and by the time he was eight he already fluent in at least three different languages, and on his way to being fluent in more. Teachers now enjoyed his company despite the fact he was still a bit strange. Despite his young age they were often able to discuss things with him at an adult level.

Nine to twelve:
Things went relatively uneventful for a while, at least as uneventful as Kar’s life ever got. His father kept his and his sister’s training up. The two were both excelling it seemed, though Sasha wasn’t way behind Kar in terms of progress. She was smaller and weaker then her brother. This was often credited due to her premature birth. Still now five, her animal form was larger, stronger, and sturdier, proving to be more of a opponent for Kar, tough she was still no match for him. In truth he had the unfair advantage, he was the larger species. Soon talk started about sending Sasha to school, she had to go through the same ‘training’ process as Karol did only years earlier. Learn what was and wasn’t acceptable in public, what she could say couldn’t say. She seemed to pick it up quicker, she lacked many of her brother’s odd behaviors.

In April of 1997, when Karol was about nine and half when his father out of the blue, brought home another little girl. At the time of her arrival at their home, the girl looked to be no older then maybe three or four years of age. Providing no explanation of who the girl was other then that she was called Alyssa, he expected the family to welcome her, simply because he said so. Alyssa was a small thing, with ashen blond hair and bright green eyes. Alyssa was of much interest to Isaak, as the latest design in the experiments. She was a bit on the small side, but fast and amazingly strong. She also showed signs of developing animal like structures, more so then his own kids though not yet at the level he wanted. She had a mouth full of fangs, thought they were small and mainly harmless. She also had the cat like eyes, and the rest of her coloring seemed to be at least influenced by the animal genes.

Karol was also highly interested in the new addition, she was young, but she had a stoicness about her that seemed to fascinate him. Aly was quiet, withdrawn and didn’t speak a word of Russian, which made communicating with her difficult. Despite her seeming isolation, Karol wouldn’t give up on her. In many ways one might say he remembered what ended up working for him. Eventually it worked, probably more out of annoyance as the girl realizing he wasn’t going to go away. She didn’t say much, instead in broken Russian she pointed out she didn’t understand. From there though Karol was able to figure out that the girl was Greek and things became simple after that, Greek was one of the languages he spoke fluently.

Over the next few months he was able to gather some information from her, at least as much information that she at her young age could understand. She was a new strain of experiments, she had two different types of animal DNA grafted onto hers, a snow leopard like Sasha and a wolf. That was all she seemed to know, as they kept trying to get her to shift into the leopard form, something she could not do. While she did gain many physical characteristics of the cat but she could not take on that form and while she had none of the wolf characteristics, she was able to take on wolf form. But the shifting could only last small amounts of time before she was forced back into human form.

Karol’s tenth birthday came and went uneventful as always. Birthdays weren’t celebrated in his family, his father didn’t seem to believe in such things. In school his friends threw him what resembled a mini party, he didn’t seem interested though and the plans seemed to quickly fade. Now ten year old, Karol was starting his fifth year of school, meaning he was now starting secondary school. The schools though were held in the same building so in truth not much seemed to change for him. This year though was his sister first day of school.

It quickly became apparent his sister would have none of the problems he did in school. Instead she seemed to get along with the other kids instantly. It wasn’t long before she seemed to become one of the more popular girls. This resulted though with them having company quite often, something Karol often whined about. He didn’t understand why the flock of screaming girls had to come to their house, why couldn’t she go to theirs. Karol never brought anyone home, at least not at this point. He always argued it was a stupid idea anyway. If their father randomly returned with an experiment, or something else happened, their cover would be blown, explaining Aly was hard enough as it was.

A little after his eleventh birthday, Aly seemingly disappeared. Isaak had decided he had gotten all he could from her and either disposed of her or returned her to the lab. This turn of events left both eleven year old Karol and seven year old Sasha rather devastated both having grown close to the girl over the past two years or so. Neither knew if she was alive still or not, though they continued to tell themselves and each other that she was way to valuable to their father’s research for him to have had her killed. Either way, they haven’t heard form the girl since. When asked about it their father will not give them a clear answer of what he did to her.

By this point Karol was starting to dislike his father more and more, while he never did like the man he was always able to put up with him. after the disappearance of Aly without any notice though his father went form ‘tolerable’ to ‘can’t stand’ status. It was made worse by the fact the abuse from the man was growing worse. While he was always cruel, and always harsh, it was growing more frequent. Every time something went wrong at work or something stressed him out, or things didn’t go as planned, it was his family that paid. Karol was getting big though and it was getting harder and harder for his father to push him around.

Karol was soon twelve and at nearly six foot already he was proving to be a notable opponent for his father. By this point much of Karol’s child like innocence was gone, and the easy submission and aim to please. He instead entered what his father hoped was simply a rebellious stage. He was cold and unflinching to most of his father’s treatment. He didn’t seem bothered by pain or threats in general. He also had no problem knocking his father out if he meant defending his sister and mother. Maybe what made him scarier to his father was the fact he saw so much of himself in the young boy. Karol was quickly developing the same quick and violent temper, he was easy to push to anger and quick to respond in a violent manner. he was also getting into trouble at school, usually for fighting. Though despite this he never did the amount of damage that he was capable of, knowing that would only out him as something ‘abnormal’.

Thirteen to fifteen:
His thirteenth year was a bad year for Karol, with a good deal of it spent in trouble for one thing or other. Despite this his grades were still top of his class. Teachers always told him that he was wasting his potential that he was ruining his life. No one wanted to deal with someone with his attitude. He didn’t seem to care at first he was often responded coldly, shutting the teachers out. He often pushed his friends away too, once more isolating himself. His sister often worried about him, she often claimed that many of her friends were scared of him, which usually just got the response of ‘they should be’.

This year was also marked by constant rebellion, he purposely acting out and doing things that can easily get him in trouble with the law. Still he seemed to have luck on his side as he always managed to escape detection. Most of his behavior was almost an act against his father, purposely acting in a way that would piss the man off. It worked and Karol was often at his father’s wrath due to the many stunts he pulled.

By the time Karol was fourteenth his behavior finally seemed to be brought under control. He was no longer acting out in school, he stopped fighting. But things weren’t back to normal, instead it almost seemed as if Karol hit a switch, he wasn’t violently reactive anymore but he wasn’t reactive at all. He just seemed not to care, while he still was defensive of his sister and mother he wasn’t so quick to jump to defend them anymore. What once set him off no longer seemed to bother him. He was slowly seemingly to isolate himself again.

Despite the fact that he was seemingly isolating himself from those around him he still kept up his relationship with his friends. even so they were able to see the rather drastic change in him. it often became a joke that someone had enough with his attitude and gave him personality altering drugs. In truth he just grew tired of having such emotional response. He in truth never seemed to care much about anything, even before. Many of his actions seemed forced as if he was reacting that way purposely. Most of the time his response came across as delayed as if he had to stop and think if he should find what was said offensive or not. He just didn’t react the way most people do to things, he just didn’t care.

Many found this much scarier from him, he was always unusually calm, not responsive. As if he was just waiting for the moment to explode. It didn’t help that he had an unflinching look. Karol often found showing emotion more exhausting then anything, it didn’t come naturally to him. Anger, happiness, joy, and even sadness just didn’t hit him normally. He usually felt very little.

By his fifteenth birthday things settled back down again. His father was still training him though warily, his sister now eleven was slowly proving herself as a fighter though she still didn’t stand a chance against Karol. It wasn’t long after his fifteenth birthday his father came home with another experiment, this time a baby girl. She was the first success in his father’s next round of experiments. She was finally what Karol’s father had been working towards for, for the past few years. Though at time it was unclear how successful she truly was.

The girl, who Karol father claimed was named “Evgeniya Nikolaievna Antonova” was the first experiment born to have true animal traits, a set of wings as well as a full set of doglike teeth. She was the result of two different animal’s DNA being grafted onto a human’s embryo. Though she wasn’t the first living one to be born from doing such, it was unclear at this point if she would be able to shift at all.

seventeen to present
As the young girl aged she stated showing more and more signs of being a success, it wasn’t long before she became Karol’s father pride and joy, at least in the sense of his work. She became his father’s main focus, especially once she started showing signs that she was not only able to shift but she could take on the form of both animals whose DNA she had. Karol’s father seemed convince that he finally did it, he finally created the next generations of fighters. The perfect weapon, agile, quick, and strong, and soon interest in training Karol and Sasha was soon lost.

While Karol felt bad for the young girl, he didn’t seem to care enough to intervene. He and his family were mainly free of their father’s attention, at least for the time being and that was all he cared about. The girl on the other hand was the center of attention, as Karol’s father tried to figure out what set her apart. Why was she so successful? And how do they replicate it? it soon became clear though that the girl was far from perfect. She was frail, it seemed she was hurt easily. it didn’t take much for her to end up with broken bones. Yeah she was able to shift, even do partial shifts (As the wings later proved to be) but it came with a price, the girl was no weapon. She could barely withstand a hard fall let alone a massive blow. Still despite this, fascination remained in the girl. She was still a step in the direction they were trying to go. Attention though turned back to Karol and the rest of his family.

When Karol turned eighteen, he decided he had enough with his family. Despite his father’s protests and threats, only three days after his birthday he upped and moved out of the house. Not only did he move out of the house but out of the country. Using money left to him by grandparents he upped and move to United States, New York City to be exact. There he enrolled in school, making it into one of the best schools in the country.

Life in America proved to be rather dull, without the constant pestering from his father Karol was able to concentrate on his studies and actually having more of a social life., not that he had much of one. He did make a small group of friends, but for the most part the other kids seemed downright frightened of him. He seemed to give off a threatening air even without meaning too. Still he was as happy as Karol got.

His ninetieth birthday came and went and for the most part his life was still uneventful. That was at least until about May before his twentieth birthday. A similar program, ran in Limbotton had hit a rough patch, with one of the experiments rebelling and killing some of the scientist. When news reached the Russian government of the events the project was quickly deemed to dangerous and was disbanded. Leopon Project had now reached its end and in its place ‘Project Janus’ was launched. Project: Janus referred to the complete disbandment of the Leopon Project, evidence was disposed of, and any experiment that wasn’t’ deemed loyal were disposed of. Karol was called back tin Russia, where he was met with the threat of either pleading his loyalties to the project or being killed himself. He didn’t seem happy with this option, though he eventually gave the Project leaders an ultimatum, if they want his cooperation, they better pay him. He had no interest in furthering their cause, but he also had no interest in the cause of the projects that escaped in Limbotton. He would go to whoever offered him the better deal.

This didn’t sit well with the project leaders, but they eventually and reluctantly gave in. mainly do to the fact he was not yet out of the states, and he could do more damage before they ever reached him to dispose of him. Due to his training and his ability (he was one of the few more ‘advanced’ experiments alive) he was placed in a high level spot in Project: Janus which was now in charge of aiding the Limbotton hunters.

Karol’s father though was not interest in this new turn of events, and despite the fact the project was shutdown he and a few select few kept up their experimenting. He took his top experiments and moved the ‘lab’ to his house. It wasn’t long before news of this reached the top leaders of the project and under Project Janus, his father and the other scientists were marked for disposal. Karol’s father private lab was quickly raided and his many experiments and scientists were quickly killed. Two of their main targets though were missing. Evgeniya, and Karol’s father, Eva at this point was deemed to risky to the cause and Karol’s father was a traitor. Karol returned home to help deal with the mess caused, to his disgust his sister and mother were aiding the very man that was causing the mess. He was home for less then three days when their home was raided. Someone had leaked the location of Karol’s father and Evgeniya to the project’s leaders. Karol’s father was quickly disposed of, Evgeniya though was no where to be found. Maybe in the only real act of kindness Karol had managed to snatch the girl up during the raid, saving her life.

Karol was forced to stay for the length of his father’s funeral despite his protests. He had no interest in mourning the man. Soon after the funeral he was out of there, taking Evgeniya with him. this of course didn’t go over well with the leaders, but again, Karol was able to pull strings, convinced them to let the girl live. The girl now travels with him, aiding him in the jobs he takes.
