nakapanood ako ng 24 oras kanina....
and i think the issue about the footage is clear as i understand from
GMA's statement...
GMA did not intentionally used an ABS-CBN footage...
GMA is a Reuters and CNN subscriber...
and the network is free to use video and news footages from the two
international organizations...
It's clearly not GMA's fault...
GMA admitted that it was ABSCBN's footage...
and they immediately stopped the video as they learned it was from
the other network...
they used their own videos...
later on they also found out that CNN also used the same video
footage from that of Reuters...
it was and will never be GMA's policy to use videos from other
networks without the proper approval and permission...

the bad thing here is...
Erwin Tulfo accused GMA of stealing a supposed to be ABS video...
i dont think GMA News will compromise their credibilty by using a
video known to be that of the rival channel...
GMA will not compromise the trust of the people...
sila nga naman ang pinagkakatiwalaan...
bakit pa nila gagawin yun...
ratings-wise GMA is the top news organization...
sa kahit anong special news coverage GMA is clearly ahead of
ABSCBN....
an example...
the recent inaugauration of GMA...
Eleksyon 2004....
even the Oakwood Mutiny...
mas tinutukan ang coverage ng GMA....
and the current number 1 news and current affairs show is GMA's
Imbestigador...
GMA has no reason to do such unethical thing...

ngayon...
GMA has all the reasons to file a libel case...
Damaging ang lahat ng nilabas na statement ng ABSCBN...
when in fact never pang nangyari na kumuha ng video ang GMA from
ABSCBN...
at maraming beses nang nangyari na ang ABSCBN ang kumukuha ng video
sa GMA....

take for example yung Oct 12 1995 Eye to Eye exclusive na pinalabas
sa TV Patrol....
where GMA won a piracy case against ABSCBN...

and just this year...
ABSCBN admitted having used a Frontpage video sa isang Insider
report...
and GMA did not broadcast the incident...
worse, GMA did not even condemn ABSCBN for the unethical action...

sa pagkakaintindi ko....
GMA made an honest mistake...
the important thing is that GMA stopped the video as soon as they
realized that it was from the other network...
never nilang clinaim na kanila yung video report na yun...

for me...
GMA remains to be as credible as before...
