KINATIGAN kahapon ng mga kongresista ang ipinataw na isang taong suspensiyon ng Kapi­sanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) kay actress-host Rosanna ‘Osang’ Roces dahil sa pagiging bulgar sa programang Star Talk sa GMA Channel 7 upang magsilbing babala laban sa television hosts na walang pakundangan sa pagpapakita ng kabastusan.


Sa magkakahiwalay na panayam, pinuri nina Tarlac Rep. Jesli Lapus, Negros Occidental Rep. Jose Apolinario Lozada at Iloilo Rep. Rolex Suplico ang KB dahil sa matikas nitong desisyon laban sa mga abusadong host.



Ikinatuwa ni Lapus ang pangyayari dahil lubhang maraming hosts ang umaabuso sa kanilang pribilehiyo na sumisira sa moralidad ng lipunan.



“There’s a limit to being trailblazer like Rosanna. Even liberated behavior is bound by ethics in media practice rules,” ani Lapus.


Naniniwala naman si Lozada na magandang pambawi ang ginawa ng KBP upang masawata sa telebisyon ang talamak na kabastusan.



“Congratulations to KBP for its moral recovery activities. Hope this will be implemented from now on,” ani Lozada.


“I’m glad that KBP is doing its job,” pahabol ni Suplico.



Kasalukuyang inaapela ng GMA Network Inc. ang desisyon kung saan kasama sa resolusyon ng KBP ang pagkansela sa loob ng isang taon sa membership privileges ng istasyon na nag-ugat sa panayam ni Osang kay Paolo Fabregas noong Oktubre 9, 1999.


Malaswa umano ang ginawa ni Osang na idinikit nito ang kanyang dibdib sa mukha ni Paolo at sinabing “Don Jaime (Fabregas, tatay ni Paolo), matagal ko nang sinasabi sa iyo. Kailangang malahian mo ako. Eto na po ang pagkakataong malahian.”
