Points in favour:

There are some great improv troupes there (Improv Asylum and ImprovBoston to name the ones I know)

Boston has a lot of great shopping areas (Government Cetner, Quincy Market, Downtown Crossing (which includes the famous Filene's Basement).

There are great restaurants there including Dergan (sp) Park in Quincy Market

If the WhoserCon2001 is around July 4th, we could try to go see the Boston Pops Pops Go the Fourth.

If you love history you can follow the Freedom Trail to see all the historic sites

There's a reason it's lovingly called the "Hub," and its cultural significance to the United States is surpassed by only few.
