小故事：有一位姐妹到牧師那裡去，坦率地承認，她曾說過許多弟兄姐妹的壞話，而且都是沒有事實根據的，她不知道有沒有辦法可以彌補。

牧師並沒有對她說長篇道理，只是給她一個枕頭，要她到教堂的鐘樓上，把枕頭裡的羽毛散到空中去。

她照著做了。牧師說：「好吧，現在你把每一根羽毛再收集起來，放回枕頭裡去。」

這位姐妹說：「牧師，那是辦不到的！」

牧師很嚴正地說：「要追回你所說的每一個謊言，把它們一一糾正，更難辦到。」

默想：話一出口，就不再屬於我們了，這些言語將在人心中，產生一些我們無法控制的意念。隨時扼住自己的舌頭，不容不造就人的話從我們口中出來。同時也在主面前常常對付我們言語上的罪，不容撒但藉此轄制我們。
