Hi,

Some more (or less as the case may be) info on the Megane CC from Switzerland.

I today visited the largest Renault dealership in the twon where I live and was told that the best info they have (since the have almost none) on the new Megane CC is that they expect to have some in the showroom either very late this year or early next. Therefore a lot later than the rest of Europe it appears.

They also have no prices available.

Some potentialy good news is that I discovered the regular Megane 1.9dci is only 1,400 CHF more expensive than the 2.0 16v model, so around 900 EURO's. This is far better than the (correct me if I'm wrong) 2000 EURO's difference in France. Hopefully this will translate to the CC too.

Can anybody out there also vouch for the quality of the 'Cabasse' 4 * 40 watt sound system upgrades that are available. If it is as good as the Bose and Harman Karden systems available for Audi and BMW respectivly then it will be worth ticking that options box.

It would be good also if somebody could vouch for the quality of the Top Spec Satelite Navigation system which would also have an ink mark in the options box of my car. It looks good in the brochure but how smooth it is in real life is something open to question since my dealer did not have one to show me. A note here is that my local dealer informed me that extra navigation discs, e.g. for France, UK, Spain etc would retail through the dealership at an eye watering 200+ CHF per disk. This I think is seriously expensive and I wonder if anybody out there knows who might supply these navigation CD's from a third party supplier.

So, in conclusion, the Swiss dealership network seem to know less it appears than anybody else with regard to spec and prices etc for the new Megane CC.

Thank goodness for this web site and it's contributers or we would all be stumbling around in the dark for info.

More info to come as I find it.

Cheers

Craig
