To put things lightly, she was miserable - unable to remember ever feeling like this before in her life. She was curled up on the sofa in grey sweats and a hoodie of his - it was scorching hot outside, but the air-conditioning was on full-throttle inside and she was cold - waiting for him to show up. She had spent all night and most of the morning at the hospital, on her own, no one knew she was there, and then had taken the bus home - waiting until she was at home to call him to ask him to come over....
