Hardware issue are tough to diagnose without actually seeing the unit.

First, I'll presume your Palm data is backed up as you can be.

Next, I'll presume the unit is out of warranty. If it is still in warranty, this would be helpful.

Next, I'll presume that you believe the unit is fully charged. What do you base this on? The unit was placed in the cradle and appears to charge. Can you operate the unit while it is sitting in the cradle?

Next, you've already tried to reset the unit. I don't have a Zire. Is there more than one reset level capability?

If your sure the unit is/was charged fully and have performed all possible resets and the unit is not responding, then it may actually be dead and need to be replaced.

If so, then the data stored on your PC from the last hot sync can be hotsynced into a new unit. You'll need to be sure and give the new unit the same Hot Sync ID as the old unit.

If you are looking to possibly save some money, you may be able to have the unit repaired. Depending on where you are located, there are several companies that will do this. There is a list of those compaines at the top of the message board home page.
