hi all!! here's my problem in a nutshell.

my old Palm IIIxe won't hotsync with my Toshiba laptop using IR.

the icon on my laptop says "infrared device within range". that means my laptop's ir thing works, right?

i've also set my Palm Pilot's hotsync option to "IR to PC", and my laptop's hotsync option to "local, com 4" (which i gleaned from my control panel.

i get a message on my Palm Pilot when i try to hotsync. it first says "waiting for sender" then "the connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. please check you setup and try again."

any ideas??? and where do i take this to if i can't figure it out?
