p.62 mentions his signing from mexborough to the stags... he's mentioned scoring a hat trick in the 15-1 trouncing of sutton junction

p.63 a one off notts benevolant bowl final played at field mill v newark town where joe might have clinched the 3-2 victory with his name on the scoresheet.

Davison had resisted several offers for Joe Beresford and Tommy Baxter during the season, reckoning that they were improving all the time,their value would be greater at the seasons end - and how right he was. His expectation that they would eventually move as a partnership to one club was not fulfilled however. Beresford had come to the attention of Aston Villa... it was no surprise when Villa moved in for beresford and secured his signature for a cheque for £750.

He ended that season with 6 goals... good lad!! ;-)
