Subject: WW scoters gone, different scoter present
In reply to: Matt 's message, "White-winged scoters" on 06:44:29 11/07/03 Fri

I stopped by the quarry over the lunch hour. Apparently, the WW scoters have moved on. There was a dark scoter present, however I could not tell what species it was, as it was sleeping with its head tucked nearly completely in.

I was leaning toward Black scoter, but I could not be sure--I had no scope with me, and there just was not enough evidence either way.

It's worth a better look.
