Subject: Maumee Bay ducks

On Sunday just east of the Maumee Bay State Park Lodge there were about 10,000 Lesser Scaup in the bay along with some Bufflehead, Hooded Mergansers, Red-breasted Mergansers and Mallards. Two white morph Snow Geese remain on the inland lake.

At Metzger Marsh a female Hooded Merganser was in the canal along the road.

And in the lake at Crane Creek State Park there were 15 Hooded Mergansers, a few Ruddy Ducks and Red-breasted Mergansers and many Mallards and Canada Geese. In the marsh along the causeway about 60 Tundra Swans flew over in several small flocks.
