Subject: Blue Grosbeak, etc

A group from Indiana who were at Crane Creek for the weekend went to Oak Openings Sunday for the Clay-colored Sparrow, which we saw. We also found a singing immature male Blue Grosbeak (mostly brown, blue on crown and forehead and on rump and lower back) on Girdham Road about 0.1 mile south of Sager. It was on the west side of the road, along the edges of an open grassy area; there is a parking area marked by wood logs on the ground along Girdham there. We also had a singing male Pine Warbler on the west side of Wilkins Rd. directly opposite jct. Reed Rd.
