Subject: Wood County Short-eared Owl found

Becky's posting reminded me that an injured adult Short-eared Owl was picked up by Nature's Nursery volunteers on Saturday, October 25 between West Poe Road and Kellogg Road, northwest of Bowling Green. It appeared that it had broken its wing, most likely on an electrical wire.

On Monday, (yesterday), there was a Mockingbird singing at the south end of the meadow at Wintergarden. Grackles were seen today heading south.
