Subject: Sidecut Metropark Evening Ramble

Stormy weather Tuesday evening (Aug. 26th) kept all but one person at home where it was dry. Steve McNamee joined Paul Chad for an evening hike at Sidecut Metropark. Although dim lighting persisted for the entire two-hour walk, 34 species of birds, 4 mammals, 2 amphibians and 2 butterflies were able to be identified. An Olive-sided flycatcher topped the list as the best sighting of the night with Black-crowned night-heron taking the prize for most numerous (at the foot of Jerome Road).
