Subject: Irwin Prairie

Irwin Prairie continues to produce large numbers of warblers.

Today there were 14 species including my first Canada and Parula, while yesterday I had 15 species. But most impressive are the sheer number of birds present and how low and easily seen they are. One bit of advice if you go, they are active from 7am until about 9:30 am and then they just seem to disappear. Today they did hang on until 11 am but the fog might have caused that.

Nocturnal flight calls have continued now for the fifth night in a row.

Rick
