Subject: Magee Marsh 09/27 & 09/28

A great weekend of birding on the boardwalk at Magee.

Warblers on Sat:

Parula - 3
BT Green - ~4
Black & White
Blackpoll - several
BT Blue - 2
Magnolia - 5+
Yellow-rump - 6+
Cape May - ~3
Chestnut-sided - 2
Bay-breasted - 1
Am. Redstart - 4+
Palm - 1
Wilson's - 1
C. Yellowthroat - 3+

Fewer individuals and not as much variety on Sunday but added:

N. Waterthrush - 1
Tennessee - 1

16 warbler species, not bad for late Sept!

Besides warblers, other birds of note include:

Yellow-throated Vireo -1
Philadelphia Vireo ~4
Red-eyed Vireo - 5+
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 1
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker -1
Yellow-billed Cuckoo -2 (one cooperated nicely for photos)
Swainson's Thrush - many
E. Phoebe -1
Empids - several
Rose-breasted Grosbeak - 1
White-throated Sparrow - my first of the year

The waterfowlers' festival was held in the parking lot. The sporadic firing of blanks for the retriever trials kept the birds and some birders jumpy.
