Subject: Blue Grosbeak

At least one and possibly two Blue Grosbeaks were seen this morning in the Oak Openings, in the field at the northwest corner of Girdham and Reed. A very vocal male was using the entire field, flying frequently and singing from each new perch. He even crossed over briefly to the east side of Girdham at Reed. The last time I saw him, he was chasing another bird which I thought might have been another Grosbeak but I didn't get a good enough look to be sure.

Also at the same location were male and female Summer Tanagers and a Pine Warbler.

Rick
