Subject: Today in History...

On April 7, 1973, Dr. Elliot Tramer, Eric Durbin, and Tramer's UT Ornithology class discovered Ohio's first state record of TOWNSEND'S WARBLER. They were along the bird trail (long before there was a boardwalk) at Magee Marsh.

Since then, Ohio has but one other Townsend's warbler record, that of a bird discovered by TNA's own Matt Anderson on the Anderson Farm in south Toledo in 1983.

Unfortunately, there were no Townsend's warblers in evidence
along the bird trail today.
