I observed the bird for 2 hrs. at the southwest area of Metzger Reservoir on 4/15. It's head appeared totally white with a short dark streak behind each eye and no dark crown. It had typical ruddy duck body colors with the exception of it's head. It also had a typical ruddy duck bill seemingly lacking the thickened posterior of the upper mandible. The light was very good and I was able to watch the bird preen himself. My impression was a partial albino ruddy and a very striking bird at the very least. Good birding :)
