For perspective - just remember Ivy Lacrosse was supposedly doomed several years ago with the advent of the big time scholarship schools.
More and more of my close friends are increasingly disallusioned with the impact of outside money and the portal on college athletics. My suggestion - pay attention to the Ivies and Nescac.

Ask your friends if they watched the Final Four, the CFB Playoff or the NESCAC Championship. Harvard just lost 3 hoop recruits, two to Stanford and Cal, to NIL deals, the separation is going to get larger and larger and the 2-15, 3-14, 4-13 upsets from March Madness are almost extinct. C'mon, Old Red, when people said "the athletes need to get paid", the NCAA listened but failed to regulate it. Mid-major (NJIT's best player just left for Rutgers) and low major hoop programs are now the AA/AAA training grounds for the big boys, every game is an audition.
