You can throw a very tiny blanket over the top seven women’s teams this year. All four tournament squads in Top 20.

#1 seed Princeton 17, #4 Brown 16
#2 seed Yale 11, #3 Penn 10 (Eli with two goals in the last minute)

All four retain a shot at NCAAs for the moment, Y&P are a lock.

Harvard/Princeton men taut, Top 10 quality game with Crimson grimly hanging on for three quarters. Tigers clamped down in 4Q, Crimson only had three SOG, Tigers seven, all nasty, three scores. Final 11-8 Tigers.

So Sunday championship just for NCAA seeding, although both Red and Nassau likely to be top four regardless. Crimson certainly should get consideration for at-large despite the small field.

Gritty wins by both Tiger teams.

Defense for men has been outstanding (no goals last night for H’s AA Sam King) but #1 Cornell is a juggernaut playing on its home field and Princeton will need to hold its own for FOs to have a shot.

Women pulled away from Yale in the 2H when they played in New Haven but that was a month ago.

Both games should be fun to watch!

Agreed on men. They will have to play better than last night on offense (shots on goal %) and in minimizing turnovers. As for FOs, you are exactly right - Cornell poses a far larger challenge than Harvard (58% versus 40% for the season), notwithstanding last night's commentators' praise for Harvard's strategy of gaining control through GBs or turnovers after losing the initial clamp.

A few years ago Tigers found a way to neutralize Cornell's Jeff Teat but their current offense has scorers everywhere. I would almost rather they not show their defensive hand now in case they meet again in the NCAA, but I don't know there is any untried strategy against Cornell.

Tomorrow afternoon, #1 Cornell and Princeton will play for the probable top seed in the NCAA tournament next week. Harvard was right there with the Tigers until the fourth quarter and might make the NCAA field as well. Combine this year with the last two seasons in terms of NCAA entrants.

Now throw on the revolution in Brown women's lacrosse. Yale now a fixture at the top of the rankings. The last two seasons were not a fluke. Princeton and Penn are still Princeton and Penn.

Is 2025 the all-time high water mark for Ivy League lacrosse considering both men and women, at least through Selection Sunday? Now we've got to make serious noise through Memorial Day.

In terms of top to bottom strength, AO certainly has an arguable cause, but we should recall the obvious, that in 1994 Princeton became the first Division 1 school ever to win both men’s and women’s NCAA championships in the same team sport.

Lacrosse.

The final game of the Division 1 regular season pits national #1 against #2, with every Ivy fan hoping for a match that somehow lives up to the billing. Coaches facing the real possibility of a THIRD matchup in the NCAAs. Selection committee on the hot seat; if Red and Tigers are not put in opposite brackets (so they could meet on Memorial Day) it will be a slight on the Ivies, always a touchy issue.

Rain supposed to hold off until after the game. Although Cornell is always a gracious host, I will say that the football lines on the field drive me nuts.

Down 14-11 in the second half, Red comes roaring back to win going away 20-15. Definite top seed in NCAA, Tigers can make a solid case for #2 or #3.

Very much a rematch possibility for Memorial Day.

Eli and Tigers very tight in national rankings around number 4-8, with the edge to Tigers based on earlier win and stronger SOS. Neither should suffer much in NCAA seeding from a loss, but a win could boost the winner a notch or two.

Similar gamesmanship as men’s match — they COULD meet again in the NCAAs if the draw is unfavorable.

Women’s Ivy season overall has been so closely competitive that anything can happen. Halftime score may be of very little import, last quarter almost guaranteed to be a slightly moderated assault on wheels.

Yale comes out firing and never lets up, dominating another Top 10 team 17-6.
Huge surprise, will give the NCAA selection committee a lot to digest — their watch list had Princeton 7, Yale 8.

Going from up by 4 (14-10) in the 3Q to losing by 5 (20-15) after Cornell went on a 9-0 run is not what you want the NCAA Committee to be thinking about later today with the seeding to be announced tonight. If they had lost by say, 2, then I think they still had an excellent chance at a #2 seed, given MD's loss yesterday and the play through 3 quarters was good enough. Now, I hope they hang onto the #3 seed Those faceoffs are a killer. I cannot remember seeing as many procedural violations as Tigers had. Maybe the short turn around had something to do with it, but Cornell only had an extra couple of hours.

Stranger things have happened, but I will be shocked Cornell is not playing Memorial Day. They deserve their praises.

Great game by both teams. Cornell found their groove in the 3rd period and closed it out in the 4th.

Cornell has a lot of weapons on offense besides CJ Kirst. Hope they advance all the way to the final.

Quite a game on Sunday with Princeton pulling ahead of Cornell 12-8 in the 3rd period, then we turned it around. While it was nice to see Cornell play the tournament in Ithaca, I think the event should be played in a centralized neutral location like Hofstra. The alumni base and turnout would be much bigger in the NYC metro area. Forget Columbia as they don't even play lacrosse. Go Big Red!
