Very deep and talented Yale team; hope we get the chance to see you in the final. Penn as #3 seed is going to be a formidable game 1 challenge for us.

Having home field advantage will be a huge factor for Yale. The spacious Yale outfield will swallow up lots of opponents batted balls that would have been home runs if played elsewhere. Yale’s offense plays the best small ball in the league so they can score a lot without the HR. They are built around Yale Field.

Yale can also more than match the opponent’s power when playing head to head. Team HR totals are misleading. They don’t factor in the bandbox ball parks the rest of the league plays in. In head to head conference play Yale has 16 home runs vs opponents 13.

never count out a Brett Boretti coached team. I assume that Penn will hold back the first year pitcher from game 1 since the #4 seed should be a huge underdog against Yale. As the #2 seed we don’t have that luxury in playing a really good Penn team, although I frankly find it hard to choose at this point in the season among our three weekend starters.

Meant to say that I assume that Yale will hold back its excellent first year pitcher from game 1 and save him for game 2.
