The Ivy League isn’t going to drop to Division III, despite the fact that some posters on this board seem to be rooting for that. Like the rest of the FCS and mid majors programs, the Ivy League will adapt and survive in Division I. New regulations are coming from the federal government to reign in the current abuses.

The people here don't understand how the sausage is made. The choice of staying "Division I" may not be up to The Ivy League, in the same way being sent down to 1AA wasn't the league's choice.

Once the big 4 (plus the Big East) start their own basketball tournament, being "Division 1" won't mean anything anymore, anyway.

If anything, it will become like English Football, with the Premier League splitting off and the rest of the EFL creating euphemistic titles for "not the top division" including "Championship" and "League One"

And even then, the Champions League is more important for the top clubs of the Premier League...
