Yale is late in announcing its Class of 29. I doubt anyone is surprised by that. The Yale football program is being consistently mismanaged by the Yale athletic department. Their main priority seems to be indoctrinating players with the DEI/CRT Long Talk program. Everything else falls by the wayside.

What our Athletic Department lacks in talent, it makes up in bodies. The Staff Directory now lists 109, not counting coaches or Handsome Dan.

Gentlemen; although this is pure speculation, the particularly lengthy delay in disclosure of the 2025 recruiting class may be due to last minute additions gaining admittance. Should I say at the signal calling position?

That went to Rice, Ahran Ogbor, was the other. Oliver would have been the highest graded player to come to Yale Football. Although in Ogbor an Oliver’s case they are. Closer to home. family would be able to see them more readily.

I suspect that there's more to the story here.

It's awfully late in the process for a kid to decide that he'd rather be close to home...

It’s a reflection of the diminished perceived value of an Ivy League degree.

We've seen lots of reasons for why players decommit. Sometimes it's bad news from admissions. Sometimes it's the family's situation (finances, health, etc.). Sometimes it's a girl. Sometimes it's when an unexpected opportunity to play at a higher level opens up.

I can't recall anyone decommitting because he decided, in June, that an Ivy degree is really no big deal after all...

Our incoming class is being picked clean. Let's not forget the three star QB who changed his mind.
Success in Ivy League football and basketball now seems to depend on coaches who (a) recruit good players but not so good that they attract mass drone attacks from higher rated programs with money to spend and (b) really coach well and always seem able to get the best from the guys they've got.
We're fortunate Kamara's stuck with us, but we should remember he stuck with the high school where he started despite being courted by much fancier programs.

How about transferring from Yale to Ball State, as a Yale QB just did?

Could have been grades.

Could have been money.

Could have been homesickness (he grew up 2.5 hours from Ball State)

Could have been a suspension for fighting that he felt was unfair (which did happen to a teammate of mine who ended up playing at another school).

But just because a guy foregoes an Ivy in favor of someplace other than Stanford or Duke doesn't necessarily mean that the guy concluded that an Ivy degree isn't what it used to be...

Could also have been Ball State isn’t in danger of loosing its accreditation.

whine, whine, whine. Whine about staff. Whine about length of time to put up a list that won't be pertinent until fall. Whine about losing people for reasons in several cases you have little idea about. (And Go Green is right about possible reasons although NIL has indeed made things tougher.) Then somehow Yale finds a way to win or come close to it a number of years in a row. What on earth is the problem? Talk to us after Yale has fallen to 6 or 7.

It’s very rare in the Ivies, if not unheard of these days, for a recruit to be a passionate fan of the program coming in. This is an advantage the big powerhouse programs have. Now Yale has it.

He should have been at Yale from the jump. Going from CT prep school competition to the SEC, he was in way over his head.

(note: above comment was not mine)

Dante's path is similar to EJ Perry who went from Boston College to Brown.

D.Reno gained valuable experience as a freshman at a good BCS school and got to experience Power 5 football.

The realities of roster reductions post-"House v.NCAA" and the transfer portal are tough for aspiring QBs.

Dante should do well at Yale, and I wish him the best.
