"If your major beef is against the mixture of government and religion, we Libertarians who consider ourselves people of faith are with you on that."

It is your choice to insult us and to ridicule everything we believe in. That is the choice you have made and that is why as long as you continue to deride any and all people who believe in "Blue Smurfs" or whatever, you will undoubtedly find civil arguments on this list rare.

It's not just that you believe the mixture of government and religion is wrong, which few people who call themselves libertarian would disagree with you about, it is that you believe all religion is wrong and that is your main argument on this list.

There are no religious Libertarians I know of who argue against athieism as their main beef in life.

When my religious beliefs get made into law or mandate or whatever form of government coercion based apon them that can exist then that is wrong. The government spouting dogma is wrong regardless of whether or not it is my dogma.

What if the government outlaws all religion and anyone caught practicing it were jailed or put to death? How about it? Why don't we end the right of anyone to mention any belief in a higher power?

There is something scarier than a belief in a higher power, and that is that it is OK to use the force of government against anyone who believes in a higher power.

There is something scarier than no belief in a higher power, and that is that it is OK to use the force of government against anyone who does not believe in a higher power.

Both of these scenerios are equally evil and/or horrific.

Libertarians who believe in God only pose a threat to you and others if they force their belief on you and others.

I don't hate Jews because they don't believe Christ is the Messiah as I do, nor do I hate athiests because they don't believe as I. But if those people who are athiest, or Jews, or Blue Smurf worshippers use the force of government to promote their agendas then they are wrong and must be fought against not because of their faith, but because of their hatred of all who are not of their faith, even if that faith is in athiestic thought.

Being an athiest doesn't make you any better a person than a person of faith. All people of faith don't wish to be devisive even though many are. All athiest don't wish to be devisive, but (read your posts), many are.

If you can't convince us and you can't convert us can you stand us? If not, then maybe you need to rethink whether or not you're a Libertarian in the sense that, all people have the right to live their lives in any manner they choose as long as they don't infringe on the right of others to do the same.

By the way, I don't think I'm getting you wrong when you say that you don't care what I believe in, my faith clearly bothers you even though I have made it clear that I would never impose it on you.

Who knows, maybe if you keep verbally attacking all the Libertarians of faith you can run us all out of the party and you will have it all to yourself. It could happen.:-)
