Dear Friends educate yourselves:

With regard to the pending Bush invasion of Iraq I would
suggest everyone hear what former Chief United Nations
Weapons Inspector for UNSCOM (1991-1998), Scott Ritter, had
to say on NPR's "Talk of the Nation". The show aired on
August 28, 2002. You can hear the show at NPR's website:
http://search.npr.org/cf/cmn/cmnpd01fm.cfm?PrgDate=08/28/200
2&PrgID=5 . Look for the heading: "Iraq: What's the Threat?"
in the middle of the page.

The direct, Real Audio link, for the show is here:
http://www.npr.org/ramfiles/totn/20020828.totn.03.ram

------------------------------------

If your Real Audio is not working this is what Mr. Ritter
had to say in a nut shell:

The weapons inspectors effectively destroyed, completely,
Iraq's capability to produce weapons of mass destruction --
chemical, biological, and nuclear. It is possible for Iraq
to reconstitute their ability to produce weapons of mass
destruction but highly unlikely given the special equipment
needed and the tight international controls on shipment of
such equipment.

Ritter stated:
"We have to remember why there aren't [weapons] inspectors
in Iraq today and it is NOT because Iraq kicked them out it
is because the United States ORDERED them out before they
began bombing Iraq in 1998 using intelligence gathered by
inspectors to target Saddam." [emphasis added]

--------------------------------------

Wow! It is amazing to me that this country is on the verge
of invading a sovereign nation and few people seem to care.
Invasion of sovereign nations are not the principles upon
which America was founded.

Another enlightening article on this subject entitled: "Iraq
War Hawks Have Plans to Reshape Entire Mideast", can be
found here:

have_plans_to_reshape_entire_Mideast+.shtml
