AMEN! The thing about the bible is that you must have, first, read it all like a history book. Like any history of mankind, you must go back and read certain parts again to get a real perspective about current events. You must never take the atrocities, slights, enlightenments, or dictates of any period as the whole truth.

You are correct when you say that Christ said absolutely NOTHING about homosexuals. I do the same. I don't need to introduce myself as, "Juanita Ramirez and I'm straight" nor should a gay person need to introduce him/herself as "John/Jane USA and I'm gay". When meeting another person you need only know/care about the purpose of your meeting. Anything more intimate that follows will show itself soon enough and is no one else's business.

Therefore, government has no business in socially engineering any part of our private lives from sex education in public schools to abortion to welfare for illigitament children to gay rights. In short, leave the human condition to the humans living it. Government should stick strictly to the Constitution.

The ills and slights of humanity (for all) could be corrected by simple contractual agreements in which all (straights, gays, unwed mothers, marriages, et al) could be addressed and have their rights respected. We have the technology now to do it without judgment.
