Coach Jones’ CSU Men’s Basketball Staff Complete For 2003-2004

Chicago, Illinois – Chicago State University Head Basketball Coach Kevin Jones has been a busy man the past few months recruiting and hiring his staff for the 2003-2004
season. Jones has named three assistants for next year’s Cougar men’s basketball program: Chrys Cornelius, D’Arcy L. Stanfield and Eric Vichnick.

Below are capsule bios of the CSU 2003-2004 assistant coaches.

Chrys Cornelius (Western Illinois University graduate, 1995)
Spent four seasons (1998-2003) as a full-time assistant coach at Western Illinois University and was also a graduate assistant for two seasons (1996-1998) with the
Leathernecks. The Joliet, Illinois native was an assistant coach at Jacksonville, Texas Junior College for two years and also an Assistant Coach at Joliet (IL) Junior College.
Was a three-year varsity starter at Joliet Catholic Academy and signed to play at Arkansas-Pine Bluff out of high school before transferring to Western Illinois.

D’Arcy L. Stanfield (IUPUI graduate, 2002) Was named an assistant coach at Chicago State University last fall and is in his second year with the Cougars men’s basketball program. The Indianapolis native was an assistant coach at IUPUI for two seasons (2000-2002). The Indianapolis Arsenault Tech graduate played football, basketball and baseball in high school earning nine varsity letters. Stanfield was in the military for many years and his last 6 years in the Army he as the Post Head Basketball Coach. D’Arcy and his wife Dell have three boys –Lamont (7),
William (4) and Julian (2).

Eric Vichnick (Syracuse University graduate, 1991) Springfield College –Master of Physical Education –Sports Management, 1993 Recently joined the CSU men’s basketball staff, Vichnick was an Assistant Coach at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1996-2002) helping the MIT program to numerous school records and leading the program to a 55% winning percentage since 1997 (the program was 32% for the previous 11 years). Has coached many years in high school basketball and worked previously in the Chicagoland area as a Middle School teacher in Evanston (1999) and two years working at Niles Township High Schools (1998-200).
