Subject: Movie version

With nearly every old television series seemingly remade into a feature film at some point, I seem to remember reading somewhere a while back that Michael Douglas' production company would make a film based on the show. I have an interview with Don Grady and the Livingston brothers from 1996 seen only on Australian television (shown as a segment of "Where Are They Now?") in which they alluded to the stars they though appropriate for the recasting of their original roles. Steve Martin as Steve Douglas(!!!), Tom Selleck as Rob and Johnny Depp as Ernie were some of the names they mentioned. Obviously it was all hypothetical as nothing so far has come to fruition.
What do others think of possible casting choices? And has anyone heard more current news of a probable film release?
