I have been involved with pageants and the interview has always been behind closed doors and that was 13 years ago. I have heard stories where judges want to see how a girl can handle herself under pressure and so some will try in intimidate, not because the DIRECTOR told them to, but because that is thier interviewing style. I think the director will try to explain what type of person makes a good miss usa, but wouldn't say i want a particular girl. I think the judges were just inexperienced and unfortunately did not pick my girl, but that is the way it goes sometimes.
