 It is expensive that is why it is better to do a local pre-lim. It gives you the experience you need and in general they pay your fees, or most anyway! I believe that the fees all included are soemwhere around $800.00. I would suggest that you get into a Preliminary that would help you get started. They may offer prize package that would cover things like photo's coaching etc. Miss Michigan USA is a big deal and you will need help. Good Luck!

Are there any other suggestions you have for preparing for state? It would be my first year going and I want to make it worth my while (i.e. I want to place).
