Subject: Boom Gallows

Hi guys,

I'm looking into putting on a boom gallow on my Triton, I'm curious if anyone out there has experience with them? I've got end boom sheeting on a traveler, so I'll need to figure how far forward it needs to be to avoid snagging it...

As far as height goes, do you recut the sail so if its hoisted the boom rises off the gallows? Or does the topping lift never get slacked off?

Thanks guys,

Zach

I'm wanting one so I've got somewhere to hang some solar panels that aren't in the way of anything... and to have a frame to put a shade over the cockpit while sailing... rain catcher, etc. Oh yeah... and not get bonked on the head. Grin.
