I'm presently building a 24' proa as a testing platform, to work out the details for a larger sailing ship in mind. what I read of your intentions, they run parallel to mine. My choice of sailing cargo ship is a proa, for the following reasons: 1. Cost of building is less than any other sailing craft.2. She is faster than average sailing ships. 3. You can beach the proa. 4.The cargo I see that can be moved is about 10 tons average with an aproximate LOA of 80'. She seems long but the prortions are in ratio to carrying capacity. All around work can be done with this sail ship(inter island, coastal and long voyages). I would like very much to be included in the project at hand.
Thanks for making your project public. Very inspiring!
