The "Ice Maiden" is built from Plywood throughout. The main hull is sheathed with two layers of 7mm ply with a light layer of fiberglass cloth between. The whole is sheathed with 2 layers of fiberglass. The frames are 19mm ply faced with 7mm ply each side. Extremely light and immensely strong. The mast is a steel tripod.
Th original design was hard chine and of "series 1" design. The original amas were asymetrical and are now symetrical. Therefore she was designed with the wide "powerboat" bow. The hull is now radius chine and the bow has been refined to a narrower profile. I have reach 20.5 knots downwind and she still had plenty of speed left in her. She sleeps 2 comfortably.
