That was en enjoyable interview. Personally, I've enjoyed having Furled Sails podcasts and sure - there are differing personalities, but that's fine - I'm stillhappy that they make these podcasts for free and have interesting guests like John Guzwell of Trekka fame, the Pardy's, Captain Nasty and others. Having Jay on there, with a possible part two - that's good stuff.

Certainly there is no commercial content - I mean what do you sell a sailor who does not "NEED" all the baubles seen in cruising world? OTOH - Noel and Christy are rally into small boats, sail, paddling etc. So - frankly, I'm looking forward to the next one. Also - THINK - what other sailcast would have Jay or almost any other sailor (we're talking sailor not a driver) on? Lats & Atts? Cruising World? these are all less likely, because of their requirement of commercial sponsorship.

Yup - no money in pure sail, so it's put on the back burner unless it's something unusual that can be foisted on the public for cash, rather like a side-show geek. It is interesting that the number one question that non-sailors ask is about my 'motor'. I've only had one person ask about the need for navigation, and a few ask about drinking water. Most are horrified at the 'safety issue' of not having an engine. (I say this as my boat begins rocking in yet another weekend power boat wake from a half mile away.....)

My vote - it's a good podcast with people doing something nice for free. Let's enjoy it.
