Whether or not they got big money from somewhere, they don't have staying power. The funds will run out and with the exception of a few folks that have more many than brains that perhaps fall for the idea. I would not worry about it. Anyone with a basic understanding of the ocean, weather, technological and resource limits, and economics will realize that it is not a viable idea and let it go at that and search out the real deal if they are truly interested in the concept.

I remember doing a google search for seasteading quite a while ago and their information was about all that came up. I remember looking at the drawings/plans for the 'floating dumbbells'. I giggled, got on my little boat and sailed away. They will burn themselves out...
