Subject: Aluminum boat advice, etc.

O.K., I've got what I think is a good deal on an aluminum sailboat (36'). Looks like a good sea-steader. Only problems are:

1. The corrosion issues with aluminum scare me a little (well, actually they scare me a lot since I have zero experience with aluminum).

2. The draft is 6'4" and that will be a challenge initially since I'm starting on the Chesapeake Bay, but later who knows.

So, I'm looking for feedback/advice re aluminum boats ( do I need to be so intimidated?) and is this too much draft?
