No, I think you're right on. Humans are scrappy. The problem is that many affluent people today can't exist without Prozac, and if it actually gets a little moody out there for real, trouble begins. We'll call that affliction "affluenza."

What we'll see is a rollback to about a 1890's level of global production with 6 billion people trying to feed from it. Obviously, many will die. I don't intend to participate.

There, as well, exists an extrodinary ingnorance in general, and especially among microsoft trust fund progrssibe kids, out there trying to save the word. The world can get really mean, and people forget that. I personally, love humanity, and hate human beings, to quote another. The things people do to stay alive. . .or just get a jolly, are simply unimaginable.

Anyway, we're all learning, and it's going to be a steep curve.

For myself,I'm trying to raise chickens. I hate the little fucks. They're noisy, and stink. I know it will get better, but at the moment they're a hassle. I put them outside today for a moment, talking to Mike on the phone. Went back and checked on them, one was gone. Thought I was stupid and miscounted. Talked to the girl on the phone, another was missing. Saw the mongoose. Got the 30-06, not to prove a point, but it's all I've got at the moment. Point in detail. If you run a 180 grain shell up the ass of a mongoose, it looks a lot like me if a volkwagen bus drove up MY asshole at 100 miles an hour. Mostly, like a sock inside out. Nasty, but in this case quite rewarding. I thought I'd cull the roosters and cut their spikes.

No longer!
