On the port side there was a hanging locker aft of the v-berth. The idea is that the heater is mounted only about 1 foot off the floor and below that is a wood storage box. We had to sacrifice more storage space but think that we can have some drawers put in on the very port-aft corner of the space to gain some back. We had a guy come in a do all the measurements to do the installation and it looks like lots of clearance for the heater and we are going to install a caframo fan in the locker to blow the air round the boat. We also would like to purchase the caframo ecofan to do the same but without using electricity. The one thing about our shipmate is that it is way oversized for our tiny space. But, having lived aboard up here (Puget area) one winter before without proper insullation and heat has driven me to extreams ;-)
