Subject: Wanting to learn engineless-sailing in LA :(

Hello to all,

I have just been reading Wind and Tide (which I loved) and am waiting for amazon to replace my lost order of Seasteading...

I am trapped in LA for at least the next 2 years (assuming LA lasts that long - I'm not putting money on it) and really want to learn engineless sailing. I intend to either buy (or possibly build) an engineless boat in this period - depends on cost & availability of suitability of vessels in the local area & my father-in-law's plans (who has experience building wooden/ply boats and is itching to build again)

I would love to meet like-minded individuals with more experience and learn from them. Almost all my previous experience is dingy sailing on the lakes of NW England, so I feel I need some serious help with costal/offshore handling of something big enough to actually live on....

Traveling outside the immediate area is possible for the occasional long weekend, if need be...

Thanks in advance, and huge thanks to Jay for both this site and the inspiration!

Cheers
Neil
