Thanks. I definitely want to get this right. The packing gland was one of the dripless types and the accordion hose was in no shape to exist below the waterline.

I have not used sikaflex. I gather it is like 3m 5200.

I was think something similiar but along the lines of filling the prop shaft tube with 5200. Building up a fiberglass patch inside and out...fairing the outside to present a better trailing edge.
