Hey Zach,

Ari here. We're the new owners of Macha. I can verify that Macha indeed has 3 sets of anchor rollers forward. One going straight forward, the biggun', big stainless roller just to starboard of the bowsprit. It's lined up for use with the windlass and hawse pipe, etc. etc. Chain feeds down to a locker just forward of the v-berth.

She also has 2 side-bowers. Smaller, just simple rollers with some HDPE (cutting board material) to protect hull. So far we've only used 'em for docklines, mooring lines, warping, etc. but they would be handy for kedging, double anchoring, etc.

I doubt weight distribution had much to do with the placement. Macha is a big, big girl. I think you'd have to shift around hundreds of pounds fore of aft before you started noticing effect on trim.

Jay can correct me, but I think it's just a matter than on an engineless boat you can never have enough ground tackle!

- Ari
