Hey Rad, I've been away from this site. Lot's of Post's. Yeah, the Benny Orr comparison & Smalley is quite accurate. I still don't get all this country stuff on Smalley's disc. I mean, it's OK...just OK though. Shit, I too could easily hear Smalley singing "DRIVE" among other CARS classics but, the powers-that-be would probably not make that a remote possibilty.
HEY DAVE, what ever happened to ERIK ROBERTSON ?? Would you ever consider working with or Recording with that guy?? Damn, could that guy sing or what!!
Hey RAddo, it seems like we definitely were watching these guys during the same time frame. I really liked "SECRET". Remember their "Mitch Rider" medely..."CC Rider" & "Devil in the Blue dress". Were you at their appearance at the old Cleveland Agora Jan 1981 I think??????? (burned down 15years ago or so). I remember Dave asking the Crowd to loosen-up a bit and him saying it's OK to come-up and Dance because for some reason people were more AWE'd just watching and listening to those guys. Wally grew a full beard, and finally broke out his 'Blond Colored' electric 12 string. I remember when they slammed into a set that included the WHO's "Substitute", then everybody got up and started to move. Do you remember "Laughing Sall"...that prop from the old Euclid Beach Park that found it's way to the '98 Raspberry Re-union at the Odean ? Was that funny or what ?
Hey Raddo, shoot me a e-mail Bro, I've sent a few your way with NO response. later-on, mike
