Like Bob Asher Presently, Barness was the PA GOP National Committeeman. He died in 2000 passed power PA GOP Ldr Role to Bob Asher.
Specter on many occassions talks about how he owes his career to Herb Barness. Word on the street is Barness was a big time Mafia Don like Moses Annenberg. Barness owned the Home Building firm www.barness.com Specter learned well from Barness. Via his wife he owns NVR/Ryan Homes a major US Home builder.
