Bob Casey needs to step forward and become the hero of Democrats throughtout Pennsylvania and the Nation.
He must announce his intention to run against Rick Santorum. If he does, there will be no Democratic primary challenge and he will kick Santorum's tail.
Casey is far more popular than Santorum around the state and his performance last November shows that Democrats of every stripe will vote for him.
He will clean up in the Southeast, The Northeast and the Southwest. He might even run even with Rick in the "T"
Just imagine the impact of his landslide election upon national politics!
He has everything to gain from taking on Santorum and very little to lose. He either wins or if he loses he can still finish his term as Treasurer and still win re-election.
I think the only issue is whether he has the energy to start another round of fund-raising so soon.
I'm a pro-choice democrat and I hope he goes after Rick. Santorum is such a caveman on every social and economic issue that Bob Casey will have plenty of support from all of my moderate and liberal friends.
Rick should just make it official that he's moved to Virginia and run for the Senate from there!

I can take all the insults you throw my way. If you want to call me an idiot go right ahead. I could care less. What matters is that you have no idea the time involved in being a legislator, whether in Harrisburg or in Washington, D.C. You probably have a 8 to 5 job, decent pay, decent health insurance, etc. So, why be jealous of the legislators who have a few more benefits than you, or make a higher salary. Clearly they make more than you, or you wouldn't be so pissed off. People rarely get pissed off when someone makes less than they do. If you thin it is so easy being a legislator, put your name on the ballot next time. I for one think they are worth every dollar. AndI am not a legislator, work in one of their offices, etc. I just think that individuals who do this for a living should be well compensated. They aren't, and I repeat aren't becoming millionaires serving in the legislature. I know truck drivers who make more than our state legislators. And no complains about how they make their money.

I don't know where you live in Pennsylvania, but $100,000 is not a lot of money. If you have a mortgage, car payments, children, eat food and plan to retire some day, etc., that kind of money doesn't go very far.

If we had it your way only millionaires would run for office. Not everyone in public service is a millionaire. Granted it takes a lot of money or someone elses money to run for office. But if you don't pay a salary for these legislative jobs, no one but those who don't need an income will run.
