Hafer is not going to challenge Santorum. She is going to replace CBK. If Casey runs, Santorum is hosed. Aside from there being moderates and liberals lining up to vote against him, he's managed to alienate his base more than any politician in the modern history of politics. That's a death sentence. From his over the top backing of the stadium tax to his shenanigans with Specter, to his legendary pork-barreling and log rolling, he's committed just about all of the 10 deadly sins of politics for Republicans. If he were a bit more humble and cured of his personality problems, he might have a shot at saving his hide. But such is not the case.
