Your understanding of PA is very weak. The SW is not just Cons. Dems, Allegheny County has the second highest number of Republicans in the state. Also, the west is very parochial, and votes in big numbers for the Western, PA candidate. We learned in 2002, that Rendell has no coattails. Furthermore, Rendell's not even at the top of the ballot, Santorum is. And why in the world would a Republican in SE vote for a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-union Democrat. Certainly not because Rendell says to...he's already worried about winning re-election. In fact, if you check the 2000 results, Santorum performed extremely well in the SE, running way ahead of Bush.

One more note...turnout. Santorum's 6 point win in 2000 had to be considered a landslide considering that it was a Presidential year with high turnout in Philadelphia. Overall, Santorum ran 11 points ahead of Bush in 2000 despite losing Philly city by big numbers. The turnout model this year favors the Republicans to a much greater extent.

Hey Rick we remember your vote for Arlen Specter...
