I'm glad I started this rumour. These were two extraordinarily insightful posts. If he quits in the face of the Casey candidacy, without a significant parachute from the President, he is a non-starter to run for President himself. The job would have to be significant as well. Sec. of Defense; Dept. of Homeland Sec. I think the only thing for him to do is run and try and win. He has no other option that doesn't end his elective career.
