After reading some of the responses to the posts here,I went back and re-read some of David Mason's posts on several old forums and noticed a certain consistantcy to the posts him and his brother??? Clodhopper/Charlie have made indicating the Beale Treasure is a game.They have given some subtle hints about this which I for one have been overlooking. The wording of the Beale Papers do seem to be coded.(maybe)
I do realize possibly, there is much much to think about than the codes after rereading the story from the beginning, I think others should do this also. Maybe the ciphers are a misdirection and the solution is really in the wording of the the story and letters as the Masons seem to advocate. Perhaps Poe or another writer has perpurtrated a hoax on us. It sure would be nice to find out one way or the other. Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestion along this line of thought.
